Do Not Get Alarmed And Treat Acne And Pimples With Ease!

Ashish Jain asked the question:

You have acne, you have pimples, don’t you get alarmed. This is the first step of your acne treatment. You can be cured to your satisfaction. But, do recognize the time factor in every type of acne treatment. By hastening the cure, you will spoil your case.

Every one, at some stage of the life, has to experience pimples and acne. If everybody gets it, it can’t be a disease as such! Don’t let your ignorance score over you, when you decide to mitigate your own suffering on account of acne. In reality, acne is the part of your growth. You have attained the age of puberty. You observe changes in many areas of your body. Skin forming like wounds and cysts is part of that change.

Acne is such a universal spread, it invites universal discussions. For, majority think that washing face a number of times in a day is the fitting answer to acne. This is a clear cut example, how the majority opinion can go wrong. Overdo the wash, and you cause more damage to your face. Soaps irritate the skin to the bottom, the roots of the hair, and in case the quality of the soap you use is substandard you are inviting more troubles.

So, when you have pimples, restrict the number of face washes to two. How do you wash the face? Be kind, it is your face, and it deserves a quality cleanser instead of hard soaps. Some foul changes such as dead skin cells inside the skin have caused this acne attack, and on the top of it, if you are harsh to the surface of the skin, you are going to damage your cause.

Popping the pimples is the most unwanted action that is expected of you. Do you think that they will vanish by this threatening act of yours? You are providing the ground for infection to spread and the bacteria will find an easy way to get into the inner realms of the skin.

Tanning in the sunlight can be tolerated, but it can not be accepted as total treatment to acne. Sunlight does kill bacteria. But if due to the intensity of the tanning, skin cells die out, your efforts to get rid of acne through this method, can turn counter productive.

Diet is a factor in acne, but what are its limitations? Healthy and delicious food is good for the body in all conditions, acne or no acne. Any type of food does not cause acne as such! Go ahead with your favorite chocolates, and hamburger!

You need to take extra care about your cleanliness as well. There is no doubt about the fact that a spread of bacteria is the cause of acne and pimples. Therefore, take care about the basic conditions that support the spread of acne. Wash your hair properly, if you have long hair.

Androgen, the dominant male hormone is credited with causing acne among the boys.

Acne is not contagious. Don’t avoid your best friend, just because he is having acne. He can’t give it you. Learn and know more facts about acne. When you know what the basis of acne is, you get peace of mind and can afford to live without much concern to its arrival.

Laser Acne Treatment | Acne Scars Treatment | Acne Care

Alien asked the question:

Laser acne treatment has been used to eliminate scars resulting from acne as well as a method to clear up existing acne. Scars are common in people who have suffered from severe or cystic acne in the past. Acne scars are difficult to treat and this often results in unhappiness if a scar treatment fails. Laser acne treatment has become increasingly popular as dermatologists have worked toward advancement.

There has been controversy over the safety and effectiveness of this procedure as used to clear up existing acne. It is still a fairly new procedure so long-term negative effects have not been determined. It does benefit people who do not want to risk prolonged use of antibiotics for their acne. For some people, laser acne treatment does not work as desired. In others, it has been a great success. The technique involves the application of a yellow light to destroy acne causing bacteria. The light works with a substance in the bacteria to create the oxygen your skin needs. A laser has also proven to increase the growth of natural collagen to prevent scars from forming. A V-beam is a laser that is designed to lower the appearance of redness in acne or its remaining scars.

Laser resurfacing of the skin is performed after the scars are present. This is usually done for people who have endured severe cystic acne in the past. Cystic acne will often rupture or burst and result in permanent scarring. This is because this type of acne starts from deep below the surface of the skin. Laser acne treatment for scars is expensive and sometimes requires more than one treatment. The actual procedure entails the application of topical anesthetic and then a laser vaporizing the layers of damaged skin. This allows for new cells to form so smoother, younger-looking skin can appear. However, in some cases, it caused the skin pigment to decrease and make the face appear much lighter than the rest of the body.

The advantages of laser acne treatment for scars is that it is easier to be control the depth of treatment than most other treatments. Some people undergoing this procedure only have surface scars and do not require deep treatment to fix. Other people have very deep scars and need a deeper laser penetration. Laser acne treatment is the most successful way to treat your scars uniquely.

The recovery period for laser acne treatment all depends on the amount of treatment you required. Most people will experience swelling and some redness. The swelling usually goes away a lot faster than the redness, which can last for weeks after the treatment. Commonly, your doctor will also give you a topical ointment to apply to your skin following the laser treatment.

An additional advantage to laser treatment on acne is that it could smooth wrinkles. You could get the effect of expensive Botox injections as a side effect to getting rid of the appearance of acne scars. The reason is because the laser increases the production of collagen in your face. So while you get clear skin, you are also getting a rejuvenated and younger effect as well.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Acne Treatment

Daniel Millions asked the question:

If you are unfortunate to suffer from acne then you should be aware that it is treatable. This article will describe some of the available forms of treatment to reduce the effects of acne on the skin. You should be aware that these methods will not stop the acne, but they will help to prevent new spots developing.

The most common form of treatment and the one that is likely to be recommended by your doctor is benzoyl peroxide. Acne is usually caused by excess oil production that blocked the pores in the skin. It is therefore important to keep the skin clean and fresh and so washing the affected areas on a regular basis will help to alleviate the problems. With this in mind, benzoyl peroxide can be found in soaps, creams and other antibacterial agents.

These treatments are available without prescription and can be purchased at most pharmacies. Although effective in improving the appearance of acne, benzoyl peroxide can cause dry skin and severe redness of the affected area.

If this treatment is not effective or you are suffering from severe acne, you can ask your doctor to prescribe either topical or oral treatments. There are a number of different types of topical treatments available. Antibiotics such erythromycin helps to remove the bacteria from the affected areas and unblock the skin pores. Other treatments such as topical retinoids work by applying to the skin on a daily basis. This causes the skin to flake and after a period of time improves its appearance.

Oral Treatments can be used if the side effects of the external treatments are too great. The most common forms of treatment in this case are the use of tetracycline. A doctor will recommend that they should be taken for a minimum of three months before any improvements in the skin can be expected. Unfortunately, although initial improvement may occur with this treatment, the bacteria that causes the acne seems to rapidly develop resistance to the antibiotics.

Should the acne not respond to any of these more common methods of treatment then your doctor may suggest the use of Isotretinoin. Effectively this works by reducing the amount of oil-based secretions in the skin. This drug is the most effective but also causes some severe side effects such as liver damage and is potentially dangerous for women who are pregnant. For this reason, its application is always closely monitored by a doctor.

If none of these conventional methods of acne treatment work then you may also consider a relatively new form of treatment known as phototherapy. This works on the principle that sunlight seems to improve skin generally if we are exposed to it in moderation.

This procedure involves the use of ultra-violet light, which when used regularly appears to dramatically reduce the appearance of acne in the affected areas. Unlike the traditional forms of treatments, Phototherapy also seems to last longer with the signs of acne not returning for several months after its first application.

However it should be remembered that this form of treatment is new and so is very expensive. Phototherapy has been classified as safe but the long term effects are as yet unknown.

So if you are suffering from acne then you now know that there are plenty of treatments available. The worst thing you can do is suffer in silence.

Acne Treatments to the Rescue

Yuki Shoji asked the question:

Many people suffer with acne, but adolescents seem to be the most needing acne treatments. Reports show that ninety percent of people affected with acne are teens. In most cases, patients respond to acne treatments but it may take months and in some cases years before achieving the desired results.

While acne persists to afflict the lives of many, a wide range of products presented as acne treatments is available on the market. Many of these have been clinically tested and reported as effective, but many have not been scientifically proven as effective but nevertheless continue on the market.

Needless to say, always consult a health care professional for guidance in choosing the right acne treatments for your condition.

There are several forms of acne treatments available and considered somewhat effective to fight acne. Among the most suggested treatments, you will find the approach of killing the bacteria found in the acne as a result of blocked follicles.

In this case, antibiotics will be used as the desired acne treatment. The most common antibiotics are tetracyclines. For the same effect, a bacterial substance such as benzoyl peroxide is also used. Benzoyl peroxide is a topical treatment applied on the skin affected.

Although these acne treatments may seem to relieve the acne, they do not cure it. They simply treat the effect (the acne) and not its cause (oil secretion). Acne is primarily caused by oil secretion, which in turn causes the follicles to block and form cysts.

As a result, if the oil secretion problem is not resolved, acne is more likely to reoccur as soon as you stop using these forms of acne treatments. In essence, all treatments that treat the acne without treating its cause are only emergency treatments that temporarily relieve the problem. This forces the acne sufferer to repeat the treatment over and over until he decides to treat the cause of the acne.

Perhaps it means a change in diet or trying one of the other acne treatments, one that treats the root of the problem.

Derivatives of Vitamin A are also often used in acne treatments. Isotretinoin is one of the well know vitamin A derivatives. Clinical studies show that daily intake of isotretinoin will show results within a few months. The derivatives of vitamin A reduce oil secretion from the glands, and proved to be effective in treating severe and acute acne.

Contrary to the antibacterial acne treatments, acne treatments using derivatives of Vitamin A, such as isotretinoin, have found to have a longer lasting effect and even cure acne in some cases. But be aware that this solution is not perfect; it also has side effects that should not be ignored. These treatments should not be taken lightly and should always be followed closely by a health care professional.

Nowadays, acne sufferers have a wide range of treatments and approaches to help them in their fight against acne. The important thing to remember is to always research an acne treatment, along with its side effects, before going ahead. You would not want the unpleasant surprise of seeing your condition getting worse instead of better.

Jeff Schuman asked the question:

If you are one of the thousands of people that suffer from acne problems there is no longer a need to worry with the wide variety of acne treatment available. Acne continues to be one of the most common skin problems with people around the world. If you leave your skin the way it is without any acne treatment too long, there are many things that could happen. In order to clear your pores and begin living life confident, it is vital that you take a look at some of the acne treatments available.

Without using any acne treatments you take the risk of having severe skin irritation, permanent scarring and infection. There is no need to be embarrassed because of the fact that acne affects people of all ages, genders and ethnicities. When selecting an acne treatment it is important that you read up on the product. Some products are much more effective than others. One of the most effective acne treatments and by far the most publicized medicine on the market today is Proactiv Solution. This medication is a combination therapy system that is aimed at exfoliating your skin, unplugging your pores, attacking acne-causing bacteria and eliminating and soothing any sort of inflammation. There are many advantages to using Proactiv Solution over any other acne treatment on the market.

Other store bought acne treatments aim for eliminating one pimple at a time, while often times leaving your affected area irritated and red. With Proactiv, the solution will gently kill away any existing acne you may have while preventing future breakouts at the same time. Because of the soothing botanicals such as aloe and chamomile used in the medicine, your face will be left feeling healthy and smooth.

There are many other medications and creams that can be applied on your acne. Another one of the leading acne treatments is Acuzine. You will find that sometimes the best acne treatment is trial and error. In order to find what works best for your skin you may want to try a few different methods. Visiting a physician or dermatologist is helpful if you continue to find no success with any of the treatments you try.

If your skin is not clearing after any of the over-the-counter acne treatments, a dermatologist may recommend laser treatment. There are several different kinds of laser treatments, so it is vital that you discuss with your physician or dermatologist which kind would be best for you and why. Many of the laser treatments are intended for removing acne scarring as oppose to acne in general. There is however a few laser treatments that can clear your acne while preventing scarring as well.

Quick and Long Term Fixes to Get Rid of Blackheads, Pimples, and Acne

Kristen McDonald asked the question:

Are you needing some quick fixes to help you get rid of blackheads and pimples on your face? Well here are a few things that might be able to help you.

Quick fixes:

Concealer: Concealer is a quick fix to help you reduce the sight of your blackheads and pimples, but will not get rid of it.

Oxy, Neutrogena, and other facial cleansers: These on-shelf products will be able to get rid of teen acne, but not necessarily adult acne. I would consider using these methods if you do not have a huge amount of blemishes, just a few here and there. That should do it.

Rubbing alcohol: Rubbing alcohol will dry out your pimples and get rid of the bacteria inside them. Acne usually starts out as blackheads, and when infected turn into whiteheads which can become inflamed and irritated. So applying a small amount on blackheads that could potentially turn into pimples may be able to help prevent them from happening.

Nose Strips: Nose strips can help get rid of the annoying little blackheads on your nose quickly and efficiently. But, these do not work for everyone. Especially if your blackheads are of larger proportion. It may only remove part of the blackhead leaving more room for dirt to creep in and cause an infection, leaving a huge whitehead on your nose.

Keep your hands away from your face: Many people touch their face feeling for pimples and blemishes, and quite often ending up popping them, and this is a big mistake. Not only does popping your zits leave scars, they spread the infection to other parts of your face. And if you are popping them, that means that the oils from your hands are getting onto your face, which then clogs your pores causing infection, and when mixed with you popping your pimples you then create acne. NOT a smart idea. So keep your hands away from your face unless they are washed.

Long-term fixes:

Exfoliating: Exfoliating is a great way to scrub out your pores and will help greatly to get rid of blackheads. If you do this everyday during your daily cleansing routine, it will help keep blackheads and pimples away.

Chemical Peels: Chemical acne peels are a great way to get rid of acne. They have become a very popular because they are quite efficient, and repetitive treatments will help tremendously towards the removal of your acne. You must go to your doctor to have this done.

Water: Drinking lots of water helps to cleanse your skin of oils and toxins. You should drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day while usoing other cleansing methods. This should make your acne clear up quickly.

Acne Diet Systems: I find acne diet systems to be the most effective way to get rid of acne. By changing certain things in your diet, and drinking lots of water, you will be able to keep your pimples and acne away for good. When I suggest acne diets, I do not mean drink only water and eat salads kind of diet.. These diets just tell you what kind of foods to stay away from, or at least to eat them in moderation, what kind of vitamins and other supplements that will help you, foods that can help fight the root cause of acne, and so on.

Is Popping The Right Way To Get Rid Of Pimples?

Ashish Jain asked the question:

Do you wish to get rid of pimples over the night? And you are too stressed up for your appearance? What will help you clear your acne before the morning? Neither the stress nor the medication! Though stress can aggravate pimples, if not cause it.

Popping seems the only way out. But don’t pop it anyways. This is the most undesirable trick to get rid of acne and can damage your skin. That too, to leave behind the horrible scars that will require even longer the time to treat! Plus, popping of pimples can also prolong the life of the pimples.

Popping of pimples should always be done in the presence of a surgeon. This will be a minor operation.

As for you, if you really want to pop acne to clear it fast, keep a few things in your mind.

Before you begin the process, wash your hands thoroughly. Use a sterilized needle to puncture it, slowly and very carefully. Wipe away the pus immediately. Don’t do it for fun. Do it with the purpose.

If you lose patience and pick, pinch or squeeze the pimple, you will have inflammation of skin. It will cause bacteria to spread to other parts of the face. The intended overnight solution, could lead to a fortnight’s problem. The resultant scars sometimes take more than a fortnight to heal.

There is another harmless method. Hold an ice pack on the pimple for about 2 minutes, and repeat this exercise for every 30 minutes. You will find marked reduction in swelling and inflammation. The pain too will subside.

You can solve the problem for the day by the dose of a flesh-tinted concealer. You hide it or mask it for a few hours. The day’s job is done and you can revert to your normal treatment. Wash the pimples affected area of your face with a mild cleanser. For exfoliation, gently rub the skin with a cotton pad or soft cloth.

A dab of toothpaste in the affected area has helped many to reduce redness and provide relief from irritation in the skin. Put some lemon juice of a piece of cotton and gently press it on the affected area. The pimples will surrender their aggressiveness to a great extent overnight.

These are some of the quick fix methods to get rid of the pimples overnight, or at least reduce their telling effect. The long drawn out treatment for pimples, needs to be carried out in consultation with the dermatologist.

The Elusive Acne Treatment

leo choo asked the question:

Feeling frustrated after trying over countless acne medications ?Are you wondering why they never works on your acne but performs wonderfully on your friends or acquaintance acne? You might start to ask yourself what is actually wrong with yourself and ponder the reasons for your acne stubborn existence on your skin. Be patient. Don’t ever give up. There is actually a very simple method in treating your acne successfully.

We are recommending a combination of three steps to achieve an blemish-free skin.

Start off your treatment with a gentle cleanser.Don’ be bother if it doesn’t lather much. The ingredient that causes the foams is actually bad for your skin.It might provoke your acne lesions and cause more new lesions to form. What you want to achieve here is to remove dirt from your skin before applying the acne medications.

Topical treatment containing benzoyl peroxide is the most effective acne treatment that is available in the market. It kills the P. acnes bacteria that causes your acne lesions. By enriching the pores with oxygen, the P.acnes bacteria that stay at the base of the follicle get kill off. Plus the fact that even with continuous usage, the P.acnes bacteria won’t become resistant to it. That is why it is used in combination with various oral antibiotics to treat acne. As oral antibiotics can become resistant after prolonged usage, the medication containing benzoyl peroxide provides a good companion in minimising the resistance of the acne causing bacteria toward the acne treatments.

Most acne treatments fail in that acne sufferers often give up too soon and put too much of acne medications to their skin. You have to do it gradually.Do you know that your skin can adapt to the drying effect of benzoyl peroxide but it takes time.By now,you should have heard of the side effect of benzoyl peroxide which is its strong drying effecting on your skin. So select the lowest concentration of benzoyl peroxide n (2.5%) available in the market to minimize the drying and irritation it is going to cause on your skin.

We would like to ask you how long did you continue to try a new acne treatment before giving in? One week? Two weeks? Actually you should continue the usage for about a month before you can expect any significant results. Most people just give up too early. Initially, you might get a lot of new lesion breakouts which make you give up earlier. If you have many comedones (blackheads and whiteheads), using treatment containing benzoyl peroxide will drive the comedone contents consisting of dead skin cells, dead bacteria and sebum to the skin surface.Unless you belong to the 10% of the acne sufferers who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, you should give yourself a try again at benzoyl peroxide.

The next question is how much of the medication should you put.Just apply a thin coating of the acne medication covering your acne prone skin. Do not rub the medications on your skin. A gentle sweeping motion will do as you wouldn’t want to irritate your skin to giving you more acne flare.

Benzoyl peroxide can come in gel, lotion, cream or ointment. It is best to use the gel type if you have oily skin. For people with dry skin,go for the cream. If you still find benzoyl peroxide is too strong for your skin, go for the cleanser.Even though the cleanser cream only stay on your skin for minutes,it is sufficient to kill off those acne prone bacteria. If you have sensitive skin which are easily irritated, first go for the benzoyl peroxide cleanser. See how is your skin react to it before switching to another products.

Another way to minimize the drying effects of benzoyl peroxide is followed by an application of moisturizer after the benzoyl peroxide medications.Use a moisturizer with SPF 15 or more during the day time while at night choose a more creamier moisturizer .A higher SPF rating only offer a slightly higher protection from the UVB from the sunray but can cause premature aging. So it is sufficient to use a SPF rating of 15.

As your skin can adapt to the drying of benzoyl peroxide, you should also adjust the frequency and quantity of usage in response to your skin reaction. We feel that applying benzoyl peroxide for twice a day is sufficient. In a nutshell, you can see that if you have mild to moderate acne, benzoyl peroxide will work provided that you adjust your frequency and quantity of treatment as you progress in using the treatments. Don’t let impatience fails you in treating your acne problems.
